Cancel culture (English)
Cancel culture is bad.
Just stating cancel culture is bad, is bad as well, though. Because it's more nuanced.
How I see it:
We're usually talking about marginalized groups that fall victim to problematic behavior. The problematic behavior displays in a person, but it's also in society. It's structural, systemic, institutionalized.
It's valuable to call out problematic stuff. But somewhere along the line a call-out turns into cancel culture. Between those two is where nuance lies. So for instance: at what point does someone deserve a second chance?
