So it's great how these songs from my youth now come up for me again and I can appreciate them even more.
I've posted Sepultura's Refuse/Resist before, which is about the people taking the streets in protest.
Now I'm posting Rage Against The Machine - Killing In the Name.
The lyrics are so great. I used to think it is hyperbole to say: "so all those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses," but now Naomi Klein is explaining to me, in her book No is not enough, how racism is one of the tools the ones in power use to set up people against each other so they're too busy to revolt against the people pulling the strings. Another, more recent, example is how wages are kept to a minimum, so people are too busy trying to keep their head above water.
All the answer needed to all this is just a resounding: "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!"
